Water and Ice Form

After many  trials, I achieve this by placing the flowers under ice and water, shooting against flashlight in manual mode, the result is much softer than those images created by photoshop software.
There are few more technical problems to solve, e.g.  chosing the types of flowers, arranging of subjects, flash gun positions etc …   need to draft out the ideas before the next shot.

Ulu Pandan waste waterworks

This is Ulu Pandan waste water treatment works, I had visited the plant during my working day.  I went up to the top floor of a industrial building next to the plant last Sunday morning just after sunrise at around 8 am, I shot the scene with a 28 mm lens, set white balance to 'Shade' mode and 'D lighting' to low, I think the D lighting has some negative effects on the high light area of the sky, ( need to do again to confirm), I cropped the portion away. I am quite happy with the overall results, I like this hour of morning lighting although the shooting time is short.

searching for 'x' rays...

I’m trying to find fresh angles to shoot from and look for the ‘x’ rays lately, judging from my recent works, I am still not moving out from the old framework, I think I need to discover new ‘subjects’ inorder to produce better picture….   天时, 地利, 人何… 不能缺一…

Bidadari

 Bidadari Cemetery  比达达利坟场

This set of pictures was taken in 2009.
Bidadari Cemetery is a historical cemetery in Singapore, bounded by Upper Aljunied Road, Upper Serangoon Road, and Bartley Road.
The former cemetery stopped undertaking burials in 1972 and was exhumed in 2005, the trails inside Bidadari Cemetery used to be very popular as a running route for members of the Gurkha Contingent. The site will be redeveloped into a new housing estate. HDB said upcoming Bidadari housing will have a regional park and retain its hilly and lush landscape.

Finding fresh angles to shoot from ....

To find fresh angles to shoot from means learning new lighting conditions, I am trying to shoot only in the morning within 1 hour after sunrise, finding a correct location is a challenge for me.  My first two outings have given me some feels of the ‘exposures’, hoping to get better before I venture from ‘static’ to ‘motion’ photography from the high perspective angles.
